Ascent subcontracts with:
• A solar energy developer, MassAmerican Energy LLC. Responsibilities include:
o Advancing the solar array project utility interconnection applications with the electric utilities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island (National Grid, Eversource, and Unitil) to obtain utility Interconnection Service Agreements.
o Managing subcontractors including electrical engineering firms that prepare electrical engineering site plans and diagrams.
o Assessing for possible environmental, zoning, and wetland restrictions, and electrical hoisting capacities of potential properties.
• A large insurance carrier, Markel Insurance Company, by assessing numerous risks of their policyholders for several insurance lines including site pollution environmental, contractor pollution liability, commercial general liability, and professional liability.
• Environmental consultants by performing contaminant assessments.
An active member of a joint MassDEP/Licensed Site Professional Association committee that is drafting new climate change regulations for the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP), which regulates the assessment and remediation of soil and groundwater.
