About

CIRCA is a University of Connecticut research institute that brings together experts in the natural and social sciences, engineering, economics, finance, policy, and law to provide solutions and strategies for climate change impacts. The mission of CIRCA is to increase the resilience and sustainability of vulnerable communities along Connecticut’s coast and inland waterways to the growing impacts of climate change on the natural, built, and human environment. In collaboration with local, regional, and national partners, the Institute’s multi‐disciplinary team is helping Connecticut’s coastal and inland floodplain communities better adapt to rising sea levels, flooding, drought, and heat waves. Recently, CIRCA completed state-level climate assessments to better inform decision-making in the next 30 years and beyond; new projections for sea level rise, temperature, and precipitation are helping direct state and local policy and resources for a changing future. More information on these studies and other CIRCA sponsored projects can be found at circa.uconn.edu.
